I was, yeah. I... I figure I can study at night, and I'd rather take online courses anyway. Especially if this place means I can be sent home at any time. I'd rather do something that helps other people, instead of studying all the time.
Okay, so, I was talking to my friend Blaine about this. I've been working in my free time on a system that would act like a virtual reality gaming system. But, instead of being a game, it would transfer you to a body that you would control in the real world. So, if someone is stuck in a wheelchair, and won't be able to walk again? They could walk again.
I see... well, as long as working full-time doesn't get in the way of your education, that's alright with me.
Hm, that sounds like a very promising innovation. Well, if you need a body, I can help you engineer that. Bipedal androids are my specialty, after all.
[Nods.] Yeah, I'm not very good with that part, so that would be awesome if you could? I think this could really be something interesting. It could protect people, too.
That's excellent! Does that mean you'll be sending in your application for the secretarial position? Actually, we have another-- a much bigger position open: front desk for the whole office. It's like the position I was offering you, except that you'll be handling communications for everyone and not just me.
[OOC: Hurrah! \o\ Well, if you have a Plurk, I'll add you up since sometimes I brainstorm VS things there XD Otherwise, I kind of want to make it a point to see in-company interaction on a regular basis, so company logs happen from time to time.]
[OOC: Whoot! I'm afraid I don't have a Plurk yet - BUT I respond as quickly as possible to my OOC contact post :) And I shall keep an eye on my follow list and check for ALL VS company logs :) . Thank you so much for wanting Sheila involved!]
[Lee said Tim should take a little bit of a break. Not that he had a lot of stuff going on, but their new toys were enough to handle right now, and they couldn't get many more done.
Which made this the perfect time for Tim to unleash his newest toy. Unleash was the correct word for it; it wasn't so much a toy as it was a joke. While Lee was in his office, he would hear a sort of mechanical whirring noise near the door. If he looked for the source of the sound, he would see a little ladybug walking into his office.
Once the bug was safely inside the office, Lee could go pick it up if he wanted to. But once it was a foot inside the office, more mechanical whirring noises would be heard; this was an army of ladybugs walking into the office. Enough to cover the floor, anyway.]
[Whoa, hold up there, Lee. Why would you think it was them? There were other people in the office who could have done it, you know. They had some pretty smart cookies working for you, it could be anyone.
With that in mind, Tim came to the office and peeked in. That was a lot of ladybugs, he'd forgotten how many he had made.]
[But the office is actually pretty small... well, relative to other SERO facilities, and there aren't a lot of people involved in the heavy tech things, or have access to all the tools and stuff at the developer's room and the testing lab.]
No. Do you have any idea where all this came from?
[He stoops to pick one of the mechanical creations up, turning it about in his hand, peering at the workings. It seems to be just a simple little prank -- especially as he remembers Tim's tendency to tinker every now and then -- but it's his job to consider all the angles, even the ones least likely.] It appears innocent enough, but we should probably test them for spy equipment, explosives, or other threats.
[A pause, and a small admission:] And there's extensive damage to one of the prototype fighting units. I had to extract myself a bit quicker than it could handle.
[Hey, he'd heard the yell and his mind had kicked into 'serious threat' mode. Lee is a capable fighter, after all; if he had been in trouble enough to call for help, it would have to be serious. A sword through the unit had been much more efficient than attempting to abort the test sequence.]
