Mr. Chaolan, this is Tim Drake. I've been sick lately, so I hope you're okay with my doing some of the work from home? But I was wondering if I could talk to you about a few things concerning work. I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
It's two things, actually. The first is that... I've been working really hard, lately, and I was wondering if I could be made into a full time employee? I'm already doing the same amount of hours, and the reasons for why I was part time aren't really there anymore. But if you're not looking for full time workers, I understand, and I'm grateful for the part time position no matter what.
[Pauses.] The second thing is that I've been working on an idea I had, and I was... it's a good idea, I think, but I wanted to see what you thought about it? So I know if the direction I'm going in is good.
Of course I can make you a full-time employee. Weren't you still studying when I hired you? I believe that was the only reason I had for keeping you in that position. [He chuckles.] We don't really have a lot of full-timers, honestly. I'm still always on the look-out for new people. It just doesn't help that the core seems to take and bring in people as it pleases.
I was, yeah. I... I figure I can study at night, and I'd rather take online courses anyway. Especially if this place means I can be sent home at any time. I'd rather do something that helps other people, instead of studying all the time.
Okay, so, I was talking to my friend Blaine about this. I've been working in my free time on a system that would act like a virtual reality gaming system. But, instead of being a game, it would transfer you to a body that you would control in the real world. So, if someone is stuck in a wheelchair, and won't be able to walk again? They could walk again.
I see... well, as long as working full-time doesn't get in the way of your education, that's alright with me.
Hm, that sounds like a very promising innovation. Well, if you need a body, I can help you engineer that. Bipedal androids are my specialty, after all.
[Nods.] Yeah, I'm not very good with that part, so that would be awesome if you could? I think this could really be something interesting. It could protect people, too.
[voicemail; 2/29/12]
[call, not too long after the voicemail]

So, tell me about this idea you have.
